Products description

Gold and platinoid deposits in GermanyThis book contains two books, each a monograph on gold and platinum element deposits in Germany (and its neighboring areas). It is based on 42 years of geological studies in Germany and abroad, during which the author has identified more than 700 gold-bearing streams and rivers in Central Europe alone. Half a dozen also contain placer platinum. The geological findings of other authors are (re)interpreted with regard to the origin of the precious metals and the genesis of their deposits. As a result, fundamental theoretical (academic) conclusions are drawn and practical forecasts of as yet unknown precious metal deposits are made. Hundreds of gold-bearing streams are predicted, new minerals are postulated and a third genetic type of solid gold (in addition to placer and mountain gold) is recognized: the exogenously geochemically formed Lettengold.

A brief political-economic look over the garden fence of the natural sciences is followed by the methodological foundations of the work and an introduction to the geography and geology of the field of work.

The first book deals with gold. In the general part, references to gold, its evidence, the history of its search and extraction as well as its geology are dealt with, with particular attention to its geochemical, mineralogical, deposit and metallogenetic aspects. At least 20 geological gold sources (gold-rich rock types) are presented. In the special section, the gold deposits from the north German coast to the Alps are presented regionally. Gold-bearing rocks and rivers are identified and predicted in each of the 14 regions. The five largest rivers (as the main supra-regional outlets of placer gold into the sea) are considered separately.
The second book on the platinum elements is similarly structured. In addition to the well-known magmatites (ultrabasites) and clastites (placers), pegmatites, pneumatolites, hydrothermalites and cementites are also addressed as potential objects for the search for platinoids.
